'On the importance of low-contrast mode'

I’ve always ensured my website adheres to WCAG accessibility standards for high-contrast considerations. However, regarding eye strain and other sensitivities, I have never implemented a low-contrast option. This is a great CSS tip that I will now work on for a future update to my design.

@victor @alexia Omg i had no idea this existed. I prefer low contrast! I was in a rather heated debate with Element, who had made all their icons incredibly high contrast, it literally hurts me to look at them. But they didn't care, low contrast is not part of any spec they bother to read.

@alexia @victor Yeah i can fix it in the browser, but i use their electron app and doing permanent fixes in there is a mess. There also is no need for contrast levels as high as they set them, never seen any app that has icons which burn into my retina before.
