      @icedquinn@blob.cat

      Please create a cloud account for your local hardware
      Is the CEOs address available? I might have a pipebomb present for them. (In Minecraft)

        @Erpel apparently its the new enshittification meta for all smart home devices to require cloud activation "for enhanced security."

        of course the key derivation has nothing to do with that account. it's not enveloped security.

          @icedquinn@blob.cat The company just wants to know what are you using and not that you suddenly try to use a device not made from that company.

          How would our walled garden work without this "security feature"???

          Blargh... Everywhere the same shit. Just had a similiar experience when I check music boxes for children... Everything is just a freaking walled garden nowadays.

            @Erpel it seems buying something outdated or soldering is the only way to make a hass setup without enshittification nowadays

              @icedquinn@blob.cat We just use bought content and a bluetooth speaker.
              The only problem ist that a kid can't start it themselves like they could on cassette or CD...

              But I am really intrigued to get him a cheap CD-Player in a few years time and just burn this shit on CDs then, so he can start it whenever he wants and when he breaks the CD its as esay to just burn a new CD...

                  @icedquinn@blob.cat yeah... thats another thing I am considering. Getting an alternative OS android device and just copy the stuff onto it.

                  I really don't want to give him access to the full streaming libraby of any service. Thats just way too much stuff. Sometime more is less
