I will be ably assisted by Wendy the Djunkleskog as I try to hide for the longest time possible.
Anyway it was 12:00 when I wrote this message at the Creu de Terme in central Barcelona, and it was time for me to Go! Go! Go!

@darkphoenix has done a 1km thermo and narrowed me down to half the map. Still quite an area to search, but it’s an interesting move, nonetheless.

That’s an interesting way of narrowing down the map, @darkphoenix travelled to Ikea (well, Europa | Fira station) and managed to split it up again by asking if I was closer to a foreign consulate (I am).
Maybe they’ll pick up another DJUNGLESKOG to keep Wendy company?

And with another couple of questions, a trying to see if I’m closer to a golf course than her, and in a 2km radius of Espanya, @darkphoenix has narrowed the area pretty significantly….

@darkphoenix unleashed some tentacles…. Specifically the museum one. It’s cut the area down to a few blocks. This is a devastating move!
I’d also never heard of the EMUGBA - Ecomuseu Urbà Gitano de Barcelona, which is my closest museum. Maybe worth visiting later…

That curse timed out after 45 minutes.
They’ve asked for a number of photos, some of which I was unable to give them.
They are most delightfully confused. I think I picked the right hiding spot.

That being said, they are now exasperated. So I have given them a big hint that isn’t in the questions, in the hope it unblocks their current paralysis.

They finally found me. I was in an edge case section of the map that was very easy to miss. And the end game became too frustrating…
3h and 2 mins, plus 49 mins in time bonuses, plus a duplicated 5% time bonus = 4h 12mins total time. Now, lunch.

So for round 2, @darkphoenix and I are seeking our friend. And we are wondering if their nearest golf course is the same as ours….

Given we have reached 20:00, and certain places are now shut, we’ve decided to pause the game at the end game. We’ve frozen the map as shown here…
Our friend will get a head start to go to their hiding spot in the morning, or pick somewhere else in that hiding zone, and we will go find them.

Part of our detour due to tech snafu meant we ended up in Canyelles, which it turns out has a beautiful fountain in a square by the metro station, and a funfair set up there…

So we started the day rather late, for reasons. But managed to get back up to Mundet.
After a long, detailed, and frank exchange of views about the follies of youth and their insistence and calling out us old people as unfit by making us walk up and down very steep hills as we systematically searched the area, we finally found our friend.
It took us a combined time between yesterday and today of 3:28, plus 66 minutes of time bonuses is a total of 4:34m, bringing them into the lead.
