    ahh yes, now the shitpost reaches the "scope creep" phase where I say to myself:
    "You know, I could make this twice as funny by spending ten times as much time on it!"

    ugh. I'm gonna have to make my own photomosaic software, with blackjack and hookers.

    or punt and make bad apple, I guess.

    knowing me I'll end up doing both

      this shitpost would be much better if you added two windows 95 fonts to the death generator and then ported the death generator rendering engine to python

      <-- the devil speaking on my shoulder

        don't be silly, I can just call the death generator through puppeteer!

        (I need to port the death generator core to node.js for like 100 reasons, but this is another one: I'd be able to test it/run it outside the browser!)

          why NOT add windows 95 defrag to the death generator?
          I added Minesweeper once!

            what if I just faked it and made it look like I had a defrag death generator? hmmm

            delightfully devilish foone

              save hours of font extraction/recreation with this one weird trick:

              screenshotting notepad in a VM

                wait. I extracted a 30 FPS video that was 03:39 long, resulting in 6572 frames. 6572/60 is 3 with 39 left over, so that all tracks.

                I then told ffmpeg to combine those extracted images back together at 30 fps, and I got back a video that's 04:22. at 30 fps?

                something's fucky

                  wait I bet I got it... yep

                  $ ffmpeg -i frames\%08d.png -r 30 out.mkv

                  AND

                  $ ffmpeg -r 30 -i frames\%08d.png out.mkv

                    the former is taking in a set of PNGs at THE DEFAULT FRAMERATE OF 25 FPS and then resampling that 25 FPS video to 30 FPS

                    the later imports the PNGs at 30 FPS, which is the thing I was trying to do in the first place
