- Android phones [assuming they always ran the newest release, which of course isn't the case even nowadays] were able to frot between 2011 (the release of this feature with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich) and 2019 (the discontinuation of said feature with Android 10 Q).
- iPhones are able to frot with eachother since 2023, with the release of iOS 17, and one could even introduce an Apple Watch into the mix since iOS 17.1.
this means that for 4 years, phones couldn't frot with eachother (unless you and your friends left your Android phones on Android 9 deliberately) and even if they could, that would only work if they ran the same operating system. -

@EdenIsASpood the frotting in question is NameDrop, an extension to AirDrop (where one can hold the tops of two iPhones on/towards eachother ;p)
