I would like to understand their position on it.@Erpel lack of fact checking maybe? image descriptions are part of rendering a service accessible and if that’s badly automated it’s a bit like putting a ramp at an angle too steep/right into a wall (doing it just to get the “checkmark” not to actually be useful). but imo that’s not a good reason to disable such an option all together … -

@felifeli@universe.feliver.se the people not against it because it is wrongly describing, are just against it by principle and I don't understand why.
when it's badl described then the tool sucks, but when it makes more accessible it's okay imho -

I would like to understand their position on it.@Erpel I mean, I'm sure you have seen what happens if anything on here just touches AI, right?
People are allergic to the mention of it, not thinking about the potential useful cases it can be applied in.
Of course people shouldn't take an AI generated image description 1:1, but it at least might be good enough of a starter to adjust details to get it right. And that helps people adding image descriptions at all.
