@volpeon there's also the phenomenon of artists having and using both but only really being active on Bluesky and only posting a fraction on fedi

I'm not sure whether it would then be better to just bridge the Bluesky account

@CenTdemeern1 @volpeon except, blue sky doesn’t really have that either. You can create custom feeds composed of various artists you like or specific hashtags. There’s a lot of artists over there who do an art share with a whole bunch of rebleeting and one can follow that hashtag.

@madd0ck That's me but the other way round. I can't stay engaged on two platforms when one of them doesn't even let me use custom emojis or have conversations without hitting the character limit. So I'm not going to point fingers when it comes to that behavior.

@volpeon ok then I'm curious: what do you see as the benefit of doing that as opposed to bridging your fedi account?

@madd0ck I could do that, but I don't like exposing people to posts which make no sense on their platform. Sometimes I just post custom emojis or reference something I boosted or a general trend on fedi.

@CenTdemeern1 @volpeon when I asked an artist friend of mine why he stopped posting on Fedi he pretty much said for the amount of work involved to post on here (CWs, thinking of every possible relevant hashtag, descriptive alt text, etc.) compared to Bluesky, he simply doesn't think it's worthwhile to continue posting on Fedi when the engagement is several orders of magnitude higher on Bluesky
