My headphones just broke.
Some plastic part broke and so the left part was loose.
Could just put it together but I think my Sony WH1000-X M3 aren't gonna survive another... I actually don't know anymore when I bought them.
I think I got them at least for seven or eight years... -

@Erpel
that is a long service life
@icedquinn@blob.cat yes. And the best part: The battery is still very alive and it still just works.
Have to tape that plastic part, so hopefully it will survive another year or two
Until they are really done and dusted I will keep using them. -

@icedquinn@blob.cat @mia@movsw.0x0.st I think some tape will be enough here. it's just the casing who sprung open because it seems one of those plastic noses is bent (not yet broken).
I really can't find any invoice or email from when I ordered them
Could be I bought it in some store, but I have them quite a while now. (I think it's since 2016) -

regular ASA holds up very well though. if it breaks again i’ll try carbon fiber reinforced PCTG or PA12. and if THAT breaks the part clearly needs a redesign. -

The small black ring shouldn't be there, but it only helps the panel beneath in place, so when I tape that down it should be good to go.
Al I have to find now is some iso tape in the storage system. -

maybe put a metal cable tie or a small hose clamp on there instead of just tape to prevent it from bending further? -

(I use them for my daily commute so its good when I can easily put them in my backpack)
And I am afraid that when I put too much pressure on it, it won't work properly anymore -

@mia@movsw.0x0.st @icedquinn@blob.cat hmm... the hose clamp idea could be good... have to check our storage system or the local hardware store, but I would only add it as an additional layer to the tape (and to somewhat stop it from moving around on the smooth plastic)
