                @sodiboo how often do humans actually change their phone numbers tho? maybe once or twice in their life in most cases, so they are de facto immutable like many other ids assigned by govs

                    it's mostly the tax ID that really is global and permanent

                          @darkphoenix @sodiboo the average gets their phone number with their first phone and will probably just continue using the number until death, cuz why bother changing that number except for very specific conditions?

                          changing phone numbers tends to be a hassle for most people they want to avoid
