It is so fucking dumb that in some cities in Germany if the cops at train stations find a SAK in your pockets they will confiscate it, because "it could be used as a weapon"

and like the German weapons law (WaffG) has multiple paragraphs which declassify a SAK/pocket knife as a weapon. (§1 Abs. 2 Nr. 2 WaffG; §42 Abs. 4a Nr. 10 WaffG & § 42a WaffG)
But the same weapons law allows local law makers & enforcement to restrict these laws even further, effectively allowing them to confiscate a SAK which one wanted to use to cut an apple or make themselves a sandwich.Welcome to Germany!
that is so fucking pathetic, like if I would carry a hammer would they also confiscate it because I could hurt sb with that???
-Guess I will have to prepare notes and law cut-outs to present to the cops if they ever want to confiscate my SAK in e.g. a train station.

@MagicLike A hammer of any size is a far more deadly weapon and legal, because it is classified as a tool.

@MagicLike@soc.sekundenklebertransportverbot.de ooops, good to know
i always carry a knife, since like years. it's legal in the netherlands if the knife blade is shorter than a credit card, and my knife happens to be just like an inch shorter -

@catraxx I hate german law makers, like why do I have to risk having my SAK being confiscated only because I wanted to take a multitool with me to feed myself ffs

@catraxx I mean yeah ofc, I wonder if I could get away with carrying my SAK at e.g. a train station and being checked by the cops only because I am male and white
