So much reporting about how Pope Francis created a shift in the Church's perspective on LGBTQ issues. I hate that, LGBT isn't just a word that can fit in every situation. He didn't support trans people, the Vatican released a whole report about how it was bad and they were against gender-affirming care. When you use an inclusive acronym without considering if the situation would accurately be described that way you're erasing the people who were targeted.

@smitten@key.portend.place in the greater scheme, maybe sure that point can be argued. But realistically, the Pope changed doctrine from "gay people are bad and homosexuality is bad" to "gay people are okay maybe and homosexuality is still bad"
Congratulations, the Catholic Church is now in the 1990s when it comes to queerness

I still dislike that illustration because it implies trans people are somehow weaker than everyone else and I just, idk seems odd even if there was good intentions -

I still dislike that illustration because it implies trans people are somehow weaker than everyone else and I just, idk seems odd even if there was good intentions@alexia @smitten hmh I get that - maybe it should not have been a sheep to illustrate it but then the text would not work anymore - I think it can be seen from both perspectives, like trans* people are also the victims of way more attacks by society than e.g. only homosexuals are. but yeah maybe there is a bette way to portray this...
