So I went to a social gathering last night, didn’t drink too much but had a wonderful time. Arrived home just after midnight and was very conscious of setting a super early alarm to 5am to catch my train to Augsburg at 7 in the morning.

Here’s a fun story about my weird travels and how my phone just cost me a lot of money.

Imagine my surprise when I woke up at 7:20, sans alarm! ️

Well, I was quite alarmed. I may have said various expletives.

The train was gone. Even if I could have teleported straight to the station, it would have departed already. So I checked alternative trains.

All Alternative trains were over FOUR HUNDRED BUCKS!

Oh well, so I checked if I could rebook my existing train ticket instead. But nope, I didn’t get a flex ticket to save money, which is usually a smart choice.

Next Check: can I fly? I checked Kayak and found a flight for a „reasonable“ price of 250 bucks. Not fun, and I don’t like unnecessary flying, but oh well. I booked a shitty seat on that machine.

Next step: removing all fluids from my carry on because I’m not paying for checked baggage for a few days 🤨

THEN, Lufthansa sent me an email saying I can check my bags for free. So back in goes the shampoo.

And the fun thing? I could have avoided all that if I had looked at my phone properly. Because when I set my alarm, it set it to „tomorrow“, which when setting after midnight, is the wrong date.

Went to the S-Bahn, got to the airport, and now I’m waiting to depart. What a stupid ride.
