@infobeautiful let's do a quick verification:
Since february 2022, the EU + UK has spent ~160 billion dollars in aid to Ukraine [1]
The EU + UK has ~ 520 million people [2, 3]
160 billion$ / 36 months
= 4.44... billion$ per month4,444 million$ per month / 520 million people
= 8.50 dollars per capita per monthSo, yeah, it sounds plausible, though the coffee I drink is cheaper than that.

https://www.understandingwar.org/backgrounder/ukraine-fact-sheet-february-21-2025@hsolerkalinovski @infobeautiful If you calculate with the actual workforce of the eu, which is only 220 million, you end up with around 20 euro per month, which will sound cheap for someone from richer countries and not so much to those from the poorer countries inside the eu.

@catraxx @infobeautiful 220 million working people in EU alone or EU + UK? Also, is informal work included?

@hsolerkalinovski @infobeautiful Only have the total for the eu, it's from 2023, so i am guessing it excludes the uk. What do you mean by "informal work"? The workforce usually describes all adults of working ago who are able to work. This may or may not be true for the individual.

@catraxx @infobeautiful oh, I thought it meant all people who were actually working, as opposed to not working but looking for a job, and not working nor looking for a job

@hsolerkalinovski @infobeautiful That would be very hard to tell, you would basically compare it against the unemployment rates of every individual country.

@catraxx @infobeautiful the International Labour Organization provides this very helpful app built in rshiny, where you can get varied labour statistics per country or country group, including "European Union (28)" and "European Union (27)"
I used this query:
https://rshiny.ilo.org/dataexplorer5/?id=UNE_2EAP_SEX_AGE_RT_A
which says 6% of the 15+ population is unemployed,
but, as you said, there is data which is only available per country

@hsolerkalinovski @infobeautiful We could go and calculate that all, which would result in even fewer people, i am sure. Either way the original calculation was a little overly optimistic.
