@f13rf3k Well people who do not know how to root a phone and degoogle it will not have this problem ... and those who do surely know how to install something like this? Like, i fully agree that people should not use google, but the vast majority do and for them this this question never arises, to be fair.

@catraxx ah, right you are. I mean, they could have the degoogling done by someone else and then don't want to bother them with every minor thing, but yeah, for the majority, it should work well enough out of the box. I hope it does, because if I find that Signal finally works well for me, I'll attempt to force all my Telegram contacts onto it.

@f13rf3k I mean in Signals defense, it is really super easy to install and has none of the weird commercial bs telegram has these days.

@catraxx the goalposts for nearly everyone remains the same, they’ll use the communications platform or social media that their contacts are using. Because no matter how bad a platform is, if that’s where my contacts are, that’s what I have to use.

I had converted a few packs back in the day (2021-22?) and that was a huge nightmare. one at a time, one emoji at a time, guh.
definitely giving this a try today
