        You can only choose one, but never both:
        1. A footer at the bottom of your site
        2. Endless scrolling which appends new content when you reach the end of the list

        @volpeon okay but consider:

        3. Endless scrolling which appends new footers when you reach the end of the list

            @volpeon @a1ba yeah, they are out there.
            I do wonder what causes them to exist. Is it different parts of a team not talking to each other? Does a designer go β€œendlessly loading content” and at some later point add a non-fixed footer as an afterthought?

              @cato @volpeon is it always the same footer or does it randomly generate them? If neither, there is probably a list of footers. What happens when you reached the end of the footer list?

                  @cato @volpeon and its index is determined by the speed you scrolled through the list at. If you were too fast, you gotta go further, gotta keep the metrics up!

                    @volpeon It's for the rare case you ever manage to get to the end of the list of content.

                      @volpeon Endless scrolling is less favored these days anyway, because of SEO. They prefer proper pagination, so i guess footers are making a comeback!

                          @PaintedDurian Cursed idea:

                          - Consent popup which is at the bottom of the page, but not sticky to the viewport
                          - It locks any interaction but scrolling and using the popup
                          - There's a list using infinite scrolling on the website
                          - As you scroll down to the consent popup, the list expands and keeps pushing it down

                          I wouldn't even be surprised if something like this exists somewhere.

                            @volpeon I always choose the footer and pagination. Infinite scroll actually gets a bit annoying at times.

                              Building on this idea: the cookie popup is actually using the same ui as the list items, and says "like for accept all, reply for modification"
