seems we possibly got coupled? at any rate, besides cars 21-28, of which 27/28 are comfy-ish seated cars with people sleeping in them, we also have 1X cars that seem to just be a day train now

the bistro car has a queue from hell tho, probably in no small part because there's an entire night train's worth of people who have been here all night, haven't been meaningfully fed and have leapt at the opportunity

supposedly they have stocked up a bit, but still. something like 300 people who are getting hungry, have been on this train 14-18h already, and are now queueing two cars down

Oh hey we have brake troubles and are losing some more time

Having lost another hour and change here, if we get moving as promised, we'll probably make Stockholm a bit before 8pm

for a while there we were ~30min ahead of the DB estimate, which hasn't updated since Padborg. now we're, by my guess, about 40min behind it.

why travel Hamburg to Stockholm in 11h when you can do it in nearly 24

Oh hey we're a) speed capped to 120, and b) being rerouted, estimated to lose another hour, so maybe it'll be 9pm

one of the people in my compartment wanted to go to Linköping, so this is more than mildly inconvenient to him, and at this point the announcements are the only thing we have to go off since this train doesn't really even exist in live tracking systems afaict

the crew is being changed before our diversion and just said, more or less, "thank you for everything"

briefly considered booking an X2000 that goes from our extraordinary stop at Mjölby to Stockholm - it'd be there at 21:07. we're supposed to make the same time. I'm not optimistic at this point. but tbh at this point I do kinda wanna see this through to the end out of spite
