briefly considered booking an X2000 that goes from our extraordinary stop at Mjölby to Stockholm - it'd be there at 21:07. we're supposed to make the same time. I'm not optimistic at this point. but tbh at this point I do kinda wanna see this through to the end out of spite

also lately coverage has been intermittently useless, claiming 3G but not successfully connecting to anything

oh and also hay fever has been beating my ass all day, antihistamines notwithstanding. romantic as open windows may be I'd prefer AC at this point ngl

also tho, going a leisurely 120 (because of the brake problems), and having the window open, and then having a train whoosh past in the opposite direction is wild

ngl I still feel weird and fuzzy and a bit sad every time I take a new night train somewhere and find the couchettes are again old DB CNL stock, and at most they've had some new stickers applied and gotten some new livery

it's kinda cool to see how far they've travellered
but it also makes me whistful being reminded there's so many, and they used to be such a large network run by and from probably the best suited country for it, and DB just threw it all away
