    Reminder:

Starship Troopers is a movie about the evils of fascism.

The bugs are not the fascists.

@catraxx@tech.lgbt The bugs are the vehicle to tell the story of how dehumanizing works.

(The movie just works way to well in that regard)

@Erpel Every time i see the "It's afraid" meme here, my stomach turns.

And yes, the movie is brilliant in this regard. But it appears that Emmerich did his job too well?

@catraxx@tech.lgbt Well... It is very easy to dehumanize an ugly bug.
But a single "mistake" is the justification for a war that can't be won, to keep the people on their toes.

Doesn't the movie end that underage soldier appear on the bug planet?

@Erpel Eh i mean there is a lot of that going on the entire time. It ends with an advertisement that shows they have even better weapons now and urging people to join the military.

@Erpel Warhammer is a different beast. 40k was kinda fascist right from the start and progressively got worse. They fully embraced "grimdark", meaning that literally everyone in the universe must be absolutely soul crushingly evil as a rule. If you are not evil, you are not real. And that mean that all violence is always ok against everyone and everything.

Funnily enough i still think that even in warhammer, the Tyranids are probably the least evil creatures, because all they want to do is eat things ...
