If you've seen my profile banner, you've met my pet and dear friend Willow. For almost a year, he's been carrying the weight of a painful betrayal after being scammed out of €700 by someone he considered a close friend, a person he had supported financially and emotionally for a long time.

It began with a dream: a fursuit partial of his kobold. Wanting to help a friend in need, Willow commissioned them, paying €625 in multiple payments. They set deadlines together and he planned convention visits with his suit in mind. But deadline after deadline passed. He was strung along with false hope and empty promises, only to be ultimately ghosted. To add insult to injury, the perpetrator borrowed and never returned an air mattress and electric pump from Willow's roommate (valued at around €75).

The "maker" has now moved countries. While Willow has been lucky to borrow his roommate's dog partial (Cookie). Even though he still hasn't given up on seeking justice, the emotional and financial toll has been heavy. I've seen how this experience has shaken his trust and made them feel like his dream is "not meant to be".

I refuse to accept that.

I'm raising funds to help recover this loss and show Willow that our community has his back. The goal is €700. I'm kicking it off with €100 of my own.

@catraxx Yeah it's definitely rough, like, this entire fundraising thing had to grow on him because he feels super uncomfortable asking for money, but it's also been eating him up for the entire yearrr

Like, the cons I mention it was for were in the first half of the year, when it already became clear this isn't going to work out, and then until july he was roped along

But yeah, whatever I collect will help him out and hopefully the legal avenue also isn't fully hopeless (even if I am skeptical that the transeuropean authorities will care about "small beans"

A very dear friend of mine (Willow) had been scammed out of a considerable amount of money by a former friend who promised him a fursuit for the funds, then ended up moving countries and ghosting him. This has been troubling Willow for almost the entire year and I've seen it erode his trust and hope in the future.

To change this I've started raising these funds to help him recover the cost while he still explores his options of pursuing legal justice - which will of course be made excessively hard by the transnationality of the matter
