If you have half a day to a day of time to kill in #Stockholm with fair weather (and you're not easily annoyed by kids), do yourself a favor and visit the Skansen.

It's a huge open air museum crossed with a zoo on a hill.

I took a few pictures but they don't do it justice.

There are lots of old buildings to learn about living conditions in the past centuries, some with people in old garments explaining how people lived, and actually live demonstrating craftsmanship of all kinds. This includes an entire mini town with everything from a glas blower calmly doing his thing to a potterer.

    There's some true-to-original Samen buildings.

There's a funicular and nice views onto the city.

An original rune plate (coloured in modern times as believed to be historically accurate).

        A funicular.

A view across onto the city.

        A rose garden.

          A tipi.

A toy animal to ride on.

          A view across the river.

There is an enclosure with three brown bears (I think), two adults and a younger one. I don't know which is which in the pictures.

They do look cute! But don't be fooled, they are massive and strong. Two bears got into a little quarrel, which can be seen in scenes in some pictures.

Not giving content descriptions for these. Brown bears. They are brown, cute, they look clumsy but they aren't.

(Four pictures of a single brown bear, bleeping in one)

(4 pictures with two bears, on two of them one has an open mouth with sharp teeth, as a gesture toward the other)
