      @halva i mean i know people disable it to either intentionally uglify windows or for legibility in other software where cleartype obliterates it

      i thought ppl stopped doing it for performance

        @Makura ahhahahahhhh god i wish

        i think cleartype looks fucking hellish compared to font rendering on linux and macos on anything above the bare minimum of 80 DPI, but then i meet people who disable it to save on performance on extremely good hardware

        and it's like

          @halva @Makura unrelated, I still remember how bad fonts looked under Linux if you didn't built freetype with specific set of thirdparty patches and config files.
