      @a1ba Why not just use straight ALSA? None of those stupid problems as if software is any good, it supports alsa by default.

        @Suiseiseki it's a good idea, but ALSA still feels like an overengineered piece of crap. (Source: I wrote few device drivers)

          @a1ba If you are using pulseaudio, you are using ALSA.

          You should skip the over-engineered piece of crap (pulseaudio) and just use ALSA without bloat.

            @Suiseiseki I use pipewire though. It also implements all the sound APIs and protocols that linuxoids just can't stop inventing.

                @Suiseiseki would do that once linuxoids will actually make a good audio subsystem that at least would be able to automatically mute sound when bluetooth headphones are disconnected, or just pause music, but that's literally unachievable in this community, even though music controls are long standardized and nobody seems to be scared of dbus anymore. 🙂
