I always thought this was a QEMU or LookingGlass quirk, but now that my work laptop has Windows 11 it keeps happening there as well.

Sometimes after hovering an icon in the taskbar (so the preview pops up) and unhovering it, the whole UI becomes semi-unresponsive until I hover the same icon again and interact with the preview. Good fucking job, Microsoft. -

Good fucking job, Microsoft. Can confirm, sort of - I am a heavy user of the Win+1 / Win+2 ... shortcuts for taskbar icons and on 11 it often gets stuck in the thumbnail menu, also causing the fade-out of rest of the screen like you'd be hovering over the thumbnail.
Another weird thing is that the pop up systray (with tiny icons) tends to stop autoclosing. All of those seem to be similar "focus events not received/processed properly" root cause, but I was half assuming the 11 conflicting security/monitoring/etc agents on my corporate issued laptop are the cause somehow, because if it'd be more widespread MSFT would feel compelled to fix it.
... I was wrong about that last part, then? -
