Some Fedi software like Smithereen treats this actor type very differently (and closer to its actual indended purpose as per the spec FWIW) compared to other actor types like Person or Service, so I can't follow you from my Smithereen instance. It actually should be Service.

@Erpel @glados_announcements yeah. Bots should have the actor type Service, not Application. The Application type is for client applications.

And I will definitely not remove the bot flag.
