@null seems to boost the loudness (audio seems louder but actually still doesn’t exceed its set limit of 80 dB), can’t tell anything else being changed tbh

@null also yeah that’s just the beta, hopefully they’ll fix those toggles in their look to something better again

@gen @null imo md3 expressive is quite 🥴🥴 in some regards but quite polished already (probably because they did some proper internal testing for once - and didn't touch any other apps yet - and tbf it's supposed to drop with QPR1 of Android 16, which is in around 3 months or so, so it's to be expected to be more polished)

meanwhile "liquid glass" has some rough edges (like the switches and excessive padding, as well as the lack of contrast in some spots) but surely they'll fix those in the next 4-5 months leading up to the final release

@awoo @gen also with MD3E they aren't changing much from the 3.5-year-old MD3, outside of redesigned ui elements (so more of a refresh than redesign)

with liquid glass, it looks cool i guess but so many issues. transparency is awful for contrast/noise, and imo the fix for a lot of these issues will end up being 80% of the way to the old.ui design anyway (frosted+tinted transparency). plus a lot of the ui elements (ESPECIALLY safari) look like they'd cause a lottttt of issues too

@null @gen regarding the Safari one: they actually did try to switch to this kind of design with iOS 15 betas already!

but yeah it can only agree with all these contrast issues
