    @theresnotime @awoo Keep in mind that if you want to carry this to the UK: These things are much bigger in your hands than they look like mounted to the tram. You can _just about_ hand carry one but it will be awkward if you pass through any security checkpoint with it or attempt to put it into a train luggage rack.

    @awoo @theresnotime Something about the chip that holds the character data containing company data because it also contains custom symbols for the city I was told. The LED inside matrix displays don't seem popular, I wouldn't take on the challenge of getting one wired up with an arduino myself either but I could see myself figuring it out for the flipdot exterior displays one day

    @awoo @theresnotime on the note of silly purchases, the Dresden tram museum is slowly selling things like the door buttons, stop request and next stop displays (only the matrix with no controller) from scrapped NGT6 trams now
