computers fell off when we stopped having cool animations as a screensaver. modern windows freaks out at you if you enable screensavers it will drop your "power efficiency" score in settings and make it seem like you are destroying the environment. I hate just blanking the screen bc it is genuinely useful to have a screensaver for about 5 minutes before the screen shuts off especially on older monitors.

@pixel@desu.social @sam@sillier.woem.space I think that a lot of people appreciated retrospring when it was still around and this way they can still have their happy memories on it. Not sure if you saw the post of mine where I talk about how it's better to let things fade way (especially online communities) then to try to push yourself. It always ends badly and when people look back at that community they're going to remember all the pain of the end instead of the wonderful experiences that they had.
