    It would be cool to have a pen pal and write old-school letters again.
    I might not have much time to write, but it would be nice to use this old method of getting in touch with someone.
    Writing with a real pen and ink on real paper.
    Not doing the keyboard smashing and stuff.

    I used to do this with two old friends, but one blocked me completely and I haven't been a good friend to the other lately. I'd first have to talk to her in person again before picking up the letter writing.

    Maybe
    @prettygood@socially.drinkingatmy.computer would be interested...

        @kura @prettygood@socially.drinkingatmy.computer As I wrote I used to do this, sometimes even several pages long but you really have to stick to it!
        Like, the first instance you have time to write a letter back do it, ebcause otherwise you will forget about it and it will stop.

        Thats what at least happened to my pen pals...

          @Erpel @prettygood@socially.drinkingatmy.computer writing letters to myself is boring though. Haha 😁

          Also never had a pen pal, so I don't know what to write about (at this point in time )

            @kura @prettygood@socially.drinkingatmy.computer Writing a letter to a pen pal is walways some sort of process. because it is exactly not a hastly written note, but something you put time and, because of the hand writing, effort into it, it is always very personal.

            Had some of my best conversations via letters.

              @Erpel I'm interested but I think this is more motivation for me to set up a PO box for some semblance of opsec. Being gangstalked wasn't on my 2025 bingo card so I'm a little guarded, if you can forgive that.

                @prettygood@socially.drinkingatmy.computer Ofc.. but isn't that expensive to keep a PO box just for some random letter every six to ten weeks?

                    @prettygood@socially.drinkingatmy.computer Would be like 30€ / year for a private person here...

                    Don't think it would be much mor expensive in the US
