@sodiboo how often do humans actually change their phone numbers tho? maybe once or twice in their life in most cases, so they are de facto immutable like many other ids assigned by govs

@16af93@wetdry.world @rail_@bark.lgbt actually your retirement/social security ID can change when you trans your gender
it's mostly the tax ID that really is global and permanent

@16af93@wetdry.world @sodiboo@gaysex.cloud yes. I suspect the average probably changes numbers more often than weird nerds, tbh; not everyone cares about it in the same way we do 😛

@darkphoenix @sodiboo the average gets their phone number with their first phone and will probably just continue using the number until death, cuz why bother changing that number except for very specific conditions?

changing phone numbers tends to be a hassle for most people they want to avoid

@16af93 @darkphoenix @sodiboo honestly, I hate the thought of doing it too and I probably am not most peopleTM - because it would basically ruin a lot of connections until those people figure out that I would have a new one

yup, can confirm (the relevant part changed from 01 to 51, and so did the checksum) :3
