the PIS of this train is already saying "Take care and goodbye - Last stop. Please leave the train. Thank you for travelling with DB Regio, Freistaat Thüringen and Bahnland Bayern." and we're still 33 minutes away from the terminus lol

high speed train tracks on concrete - the French could never /s

@awoo the french don't even need high speed trains for that, surprisingly (was on a train from Rennes to Brest on Friday and it was like stopping only every 30 minutes and going 160 km/h in between)

@hypha at least we know where our trains are going to leave from instead of having to awkwardly wait in the station hall for the platform to be announced /lh

@quinn do they at least have slower regional trains to compensate for the stops skipped by them?

@hypha well okay this might also give the advantage of no sudden platform changes while we are used to hear "Information zu [train], Abfahrt 13:12 Uhr, heute auf Gleis 24. Ich wiederhole..."
